Whenever I have some down time; I usually try to catch up on skincare news and trends. Cerave products have been on the market for a while but lately I noticed it has been on a lot of must try list online or in magazines by either skin enthusiasts or dermatologist so obviously I had to try it and loving every moment of it.
WHAT IS Cerave HYDRATING CLEANSER?
It is a non- foaming hydrating cleanser; formulated for dry to normal skin. It looks like a cross between a cream and gel cleanser without foaming. It removes dirt and makeup from the skin without stripping the skin of its natural barrier and leaving it hydrated.
Hyaluronic acid: it has the ability to retain moisture, so it attracts moisture to your skin.
Ceramides: the outermost layer of the skin has an abundance of ceramides. They prevent water loss from the skin that leads to dryness; keeping skin plump and soft. Unfortunately, ceramides decline as we age, and the use of harsh skin products on our skin can also affect the ceramides on our skin leading to dry skin. Consequently, manufacturers include ceramides in skincare products to help restore the skins barrier.
PRICE: $12 for 12oz
HOW TO USE IT
At night, I use my oil based cleaner to take off makeup; at the moment its Emma Hardie moringa cleansing balm. Then I use about two pumps of cerave hydrating cleanser in my palm and massage on my face and neck for a minute. Then using a warm washcloth, I wipe of the cleaners until its completely off.
In the morning, I warm up my face towel and wipe my face first. Then I take a pump of the hydrating cleanser massage it into my face a wipe thoroughly with wet wipe face towel.
HOW LONG DID I TEST THE PRODUCT?
WHAT DOES IT SMELL LIKE?
Nothing; it has no fragrance
Dry skin to normal skin but I have combination skin/sensitive and it worked great on me. However, if you have combination skin and you are oily around the t zone you could use it but make sure you double cleanse properly. I definitely would not recommend this to anyone that is very oily or with acne.
Good for sensitive skin
A white plastic bottle with a pump dispenser. It can open /close by turning left or right. I would recommend that you put in a toilet bag or Ziploc bag I f you plan on traveling with it to avoid spilling.
It is hydrating and does not strip your skin. While testing this cleanser, I tried using as my first and second cleanse and it did not leave me skin dry or tight. However, I prefer using as a second cleanse and my only cleanse in the morning and that’s what I recommend.
Its very affordable and accessible to everyone.
I can use it in warm seasons or colder dry seasons
Its non irritating and non comedogenic.
The only thing I can think of is the pump on the dispenser can be better. Sometimes while trying to dispense the product in my palm; the cleaner shots across the bathroom.
Overall it’s a nice cleaner and I would definitely recommend you try it if you are in need of a simple hydrating cleanser.
