CERAVE HYDRATING SUNSCREEN BROAD SPECTRUM SPF 30

We are ALWAYS testing out sunscreens. Some make the cut , others are just okay and quite a number get the X mark. When curating our sunscreen, we try to consider a number of factors, skin types and conditions. So when we received Cerave sunscreen as part of the complimentary package after attending a conference last year, I was excited to get into it and share my experience.

CERAVE HYDRATING SUNSCREEN BROAD SPECTRUM SPF 30 ( CLAIM)

A sunscreen that blends seamlessly into skin. Lightweight, non greasy feel formulated with 3 essential ceramides helps restore and maintain the protective skin barrier.

 FOCUS INGREDIENTS

Zinc Oxide10 %

Titanium dioxide 5.5%

 HOW I USED IT

I tried this sunscreen a few different ways. First, I applied it after my regular routine so Cleansed, treat and moisturizer. When I did this, I had a tingling reaction for a prolonged period of time.  I kept it on and after some minutes, it felt better.

The next time I tested it, I decided to streamline my routine and zero irritation. 

HOW LONG DID I TEST THE PRODUCT?

NOVEMBER 2020- January ( I alternated between other sunscreens in January)

Zero scent.

PRO

Its sunscreen. It has a great percentage of physical block so that is great

It is tinted ( not makeup.  Its iron oxide)

My skin felt moisturized yet not greasy

CON

It was uncomfortable to use with my regular routine

It took a while to absorb into my skin.

On day one , it left a white cast on my forehead all day. However when I adjusted my routine it blended in much better. 

The tingling on my forehead was at some point a little unbearable.

Not user friendly for first time sunscreen users.

Not hydrating but moisturizing 

 In summary, this is not my favorite sunscreen I have tried in recent times however it is also very important to note that even though my experience was not amazing , for YOU it might be a great match . The key with sunscreen is to use what works for you. You may have to try out a few before you get the right match. So give it a try and give us feedback in the comment section.
