Chemical peels are my favorite protocols to do on a client at the spa. When done right and when the client gets over the shedding of layers of their skin , the results are absolutely amazing. DERMACLEAR MICRO MILK PEEL BY DR JART is not going to give you the same outcome. it was inspired by peels given in clinics but it was formulated in order for it to be used safely at home by anyone who needed gentle exfoliation without abrasion and extra benefits . As an aesthetician, I found it interesting and I was eager to find out if the results were comparable to peels done in spas/clinics.
DERMACLEAR MICRO MILK PEEL BY DR JART (CLAIM)
This product was inspired by milk peels done in clinics.Dr Jart decided to develop a peel that gently exfoliates the skin, deeply cleanse the pores with peeling complex. It brightens the skin, cleanse out the pores ,improves skins elasticity and moisturize skin.
ACTIVE INGREDIENTS
HYDROGENATED MINERAL WATER : Purifies skin.
COCONUT MILK : calming and moisturizing .
GLUTATHIONE : It can inactivate the tyrosinase enzyme and quench free radicals that contribute to melanin formation, thereby serving a a skin lightening or pigment agent.
LACTIC ACID : It is an AHA acid occurring in soured milk and other foods made through a process of fermentation . It is a my favorite acid because it is a multi-tasking ingredients that exfoliates, moisturize , preserves the formulation and provides acidity to the product .
SALICYLIC ACID : It helps dissolve the top layer of the stratum corneumcells ,improving the look and feel of skin. It is an effective acne treatment solution.
It is recommended for all skin types because it is a very gentle formulation. Personally, after testing this peel for close to 6weeks I would recommend it to dry skin/mature skin , combination skin and sensitive skin.If you have severe hyperpigmentation or severe hormonal condition I would not recommend this to you.
HOW TO USE IT
PM
One night a weekI use the Dermaclear peel. After cleansing my skin, Isaturate the gauze side of cotton pad which comes with the product . (It is a double sided pad, the gauze is best for normal combination skin while the smooth side is for sensitive skin types).
I decided to start with the smooth side because my skin is very sensitive . I tested this product using this side for the first three weeks. When I applied it I left it on for one minute then I rinse the product off and finish my normal routine.
From week 4, I noticed my skin was not irritated so I flipped the pad over to the gauze side to test the effect it would have on my skin. Similar to the previous week, I would always end with my night treatment and serum .

FRAGRANCE
No noticeable fragrance
PACKAGING
This product came in a glass bottle and the pads came packed in a transparent plastic pack. I really like how secure the product is in the bottle. It has a white stopper which prevents spills. You literally have to take the top off or shake the bottle really hard before the peel will come out, Love it! The gauze pack is a different story. It never stays close after you open it , it keeps popping up. It’s very annoying.Nevertheless, the pads stayed clean and dry so I guess that’s all that matters.

It is very , very gentle. Despite all the acids this product containsit really was formulated to deliver without stinging or burning.
No shedding or peeling my skin
It did not cause any break me out
It left my skinslightly moisturized
It exfoliated my skin effectively
The natural cotton pads where very gentle , even the normal skin gauze side was not abrasive on my skin.
I noticed minimal brightening on my skin while testing this peel
Overall it was a very good exfoliation but the results cannot be compared to a peel done in clinics
Cons
The biggest negative for me was more to do with lack of information on the package. Thereare no directions on the box on how often this product should be used which is a huge oversight. I tried through different channels to reach the reach the company for this information but was unsuccessful.
My biggest disappointment was speaking with a trained product representative about this product Who areunable to help with anything pass what was stated on the box. Smh! Fortunately, I was able to figure it out but it got me wondering about the customers who were not trained , how are they using this product. Thankfully this is more of a mild exfoliator than a real peel used in the spa or clinic.
Thank you so much for stopping by and if there is anyone out there who has tried this product please share how you used it in the comment section . Happy hump day.
