iS clinical EXTREME PROTECT SPF 30

May 22, 2019

May is Melanoma awareness month, and we at Krème are obsessed 365 days of the week with sun safety and skin cancer prevention. I would like to emphasize the importance of using sunscreen daily and extra measures to protect your skin from sun exposure. I do know that finding a sunscreen that you love , that is within your budget and you would be committed to wearing can be a bit difficult. In addition, there are a plethora of wrong information out there that simply adds more confusion about what and how you should use.
For the latter, see a licensed professional to guide you through what you should do and what you should use. When you finally find the sunscreen you love, stick to it and be committed to using it daily. Now I will get off my soap box and get on with sharing my experience with iS clinical extreme protect SPF 30.

HOW I USED IT
AM
I tested two ways. First, I cleansed, toned, added hyaluronic acid serum and finished with sunscreen which acted as my moisturizer and sunscreen in one. The second way, I would cleanse, tone, add a light moisturizer (which I would let absorb), then finish with my SPF over it. I used it only in the AM.

WHAT DOES IT SMELL LIKE?
Unscented
SKIN TYPE
Dehydrated, dry and sunburned skin
NOT RECOMMENDED FOR

Acneic skin

Disclaimer
Please read the ingredient list above for possible allergen/fragrance that may not be appropriate for your skin type.

PRO
Moisturizing: It is a good option for really dry skin type or dehydrated skin that needs that extra ump while protecting your skin. It sits on your skin long enough to create that soothing feeling the skin needs.

CON
PRICE: compared to the iS clinical SPF 50, this is a bit pricey in my opinion . It’s about $70 dollars per sunscreen and that is a little much.
ABSORPTION: does not absorb quickly into the skin. Left my skin feeling heavy. Consequently, the white cast lasted on my skin a bit longer than I would have liked.
REACTION: I introduced the iS Clinical sunscreen to my skin in March (two months ago). On day two, I noticed a couple breakouts on my right cheek. Immediately I knew it was a response from the new sunscreen/ product I introduced to my skin. I put it aside for couple weeks and reintroduced them again. The second time around, I experienced the same reaction, on the same cheek and that was the final straw. The formula is just not compatible with my skin.
