Sublime Defense UV defense fluid SPF 50 by Algenist is one of the bestselling product the company retails and for good reason. Algenist is a company based in San Francisco by a group of scientist while researching an alternative source for renewable energy stumbled across alguronic acid, this acid showed antiaging benefits and so a brand was established.
I personally cannot over emphasize the importance of sunscreen in my routine. I change my skincare routine often but sunscreen is a staple that I cannot live without. There are so many good sunscreens on the market but some stand out a little more than the rest, like Algenist sublime defense ultralight UV defense fluid SPF50.
WHAT IS ALGENIST SUBLIME DEFENSE, ULTRALIGHT UV DEFENSE FLUID SPF 50?
It is an ultra-lightweight fluid that provides broad spectrum protection against UVA and UVB damage. It contains antioxidants as well as patented alguronic acid which has antiaging benefits and the ability to rejuvenate the skin. This combined with sunscreen ingredients helps delay the signs of aging and photo damage cause by the sun and the environment.
ACTIVE INGREDIENTS-Octinoxate 7.5%: Sunscreen.
Octinoxate 7.5% - it is a protective sunscreen
-Octinoxate 7.5%: Sunscreen.Titanium Dioxide 2% - when applied it remains on the skin surface scattering UV light . it is often used in conjunction with other sunscreen chemicals to boost the products SPF value thus reducing the risk of irritation or allergies attributed to excessive usage of chemical sunscreens. It protects , soothes and heals the skin.
Zinc Oxide - it provides excellent barrier to the sun and other irritants . It is somewhat astringent and antibacterial .

HOW TO USE IT
In the AM, cleanse the skin, apply your toner, essence, treatment and moisturizer. Wait for two minutes for your moisturizer to absorb in skin then you apply a generous amount (at least the size of a dime). Massage it into the skin until fully absorbed.
DISCLAIMER: if you apply this sunscreen over wet skin like any other product it may look a little white. Don’t panic, it’s going to absorb quickly but I recommend massaging it into your skin properly.
KRÈME TIP: if there is any residue left on your palm , rub it all over your hand like you would hand cream . this would moisturize and protect your hands as well from any UV radition.

CONCLUSION
I started using this product about 5 years ago and have recommended it to all my friends, family, clients and anyone that will listen. I am enamored with this product for the following reasons
It is very light weight so it blends into the skin and does not leave a white cast on your skin
It is hydrating. It could be used on its own but I always recommend using it over a moisturizer.
It leaves your skin with a matte finish
This sunscreen kept hyperpigmentation away
It can be used in every season and climate ,365 days in the year.
Its broad spectrum so it protects against UVA and UVB radiation
It is SPF 50. The minimum I recommend is SPF 30 because there isn’t much difference between the effectiveness of an SPF 30 and 50 but if you can get an SPF 50 with all the benefit why not!
It never irritated my skin, clogged or caused any breakout ever since I stared using it
In past I have used some other brands that immediately stings and burns my skin on application but this is not the case with Algenist, it is very soothing and great for sensitive skin
There are antioxidants infused in this product so not only does it protect your skin it nourishes your skin.
